Individual health insurance is coverage that you purchase on your own, on an individual or family basis, as opposed to obtaining through an employer.

Individual health insurance can be purchased through Covered California (state exchange), or off-exchange (directly from the health insurance carrier). There’s an annual open enrollment window for individual coverage usually starting on November 1st through December 31st. In prior years (2017 and 2018), the open enrollment period in California was extended through January 31st to allow more individuals time to apply for coverage. If you didn’t enroll for Individual coverage during the open enrollment period, you will have to wait the following year to enroll.

If you wish to purchase an individual health plan for yourself and/or family, you can run an individual quote and purchase a plan from these following carrier links. If you need advice, please don’t hesitate to contact our office at (714) 537-7088 for assistance.
